g37 Zwischenfrequenznorm
Intermediate frequency standards
Back to IF list
FCC regulation 73.182(s) states in part:
"Additionally, in selecting a frequency, [for building a new
station - ds]
consideration should be given to the fact that occasionally the
frequency assignment of two stations in the same area may bear
such a
relation to the intermediate frequency of some broadcast
receivers as to
cause "image" interference."
National IF standards (not confirmed) - suppose it
is a CCIR recommendation(?):
Denmark: 447kHz
Germany: 460-470 before 1945, 468kHz(?) in 1952
USA: 465 before 1940, 455kHz after
Norway: 460-470 before 1950, later 455kHz
