The unmodified with all the social democracy, and a unit prepared
for conversion with the rubbish removed.
It is a 30W PIN-powerdiode attenuator, so it is well worth
keeping the board to be removed.
In the original application power output is varied with varying
supply voltage between 12...14.5V.
Such is not a good idea, and the potmeter on chassis could just
be removed as stage one of the modification.
Since over 15V supply is
used with the same amplifier in TU8171 it should be no reason not
to do the same for
this unit.

De viktigste delene i TU8131 2m forsterker
Magnetic combiner TU8131 is a complex equipment consisting of
55-75W amplifiers. It is a lot of Swedish social democracy
on the input side, and directional couplers on the output for
measurements. One amplifier has 55W output for 10W drive,
it consists of 2 similar amplifiers (2x CTC
BM70-12), where one is used as driver and the two other
are driven in parallel.
The most common problem is that
somebody tried to use solder without silver and connections in
the collector
circuit were bad after some time with substantial lack of gain.
Supply line testpoint: 0.25V drop for 10A current
PC204a 3dB kopler (hybrid) for 2m. Hybrid
for 70cm (450MHz) er PC204, om disse er forskjellige aner jeg
ikke.
For begge er det oppgitt max 200W input. Det er også oppgitt at

A very similar unit was made for UHF mobile telephone system
(covering a part of the NMT band 461-464MHz base stn transmitter)
and it is easily converted to 70cm ssb. It is very much RF fields
in the box,
I once tried to use it as a beacon (LA9UHF), but the logic
wouldn't operate because of extensive RF in the box

forspenningsregulator med 2 transistorer og en sekshullskjerne
(som bredbåndsdrossel, Valvo VK200), den siste og bruk av
elektrolytkondensatorer er viktig for å unngå spuriøse.
